Zac's Letter: February 15, 2010

Hey Family!

That is so crazy that Dad's cousin is going to be my new mission President!  President Talbot mentioned him in his email so that is way cool to already have that conection.  They might as well rename this mission the "Jergensen Mission".  President Talbot also said in his email that they are dissolving the Peoria, Illinois Mission and adding parts of it to ours.  I think all of that change will happen when President Jergensen gets here.

I will ask around and find out where people are staying at BYU so I can give you an idea of where I want to be.  We have Zone Leader Counsel tomorrow so I'll ask a bunch of the guys there.  Just so you know the bread that mom sent was awesome!  Keep it coming.  I have been trying to eat healthier and get in shape.  Elder Blackett and I started working on this and he ended up loosing 13 pounds last transfer!  Elder Ware also wants to slim down so we are keeping up the 5:30 workout routine.  I am going to keep track of how much weight my comps loose while they are with me.  Haha!

My new comp is Elder Ware.  He is from Twin Falls, Idaho.  He is a very funny kid so we are having a good time.  I loved Elder Blackett but he was pretty uptight at times.  Elder Ware is 24 years old already so that's kinda crazy.  He knows how to get the job done though so I feel many baptisms coming on.  The missionary dad met, Elder Richards, is a good kid but he was stuck in the "it's hard to baptize" mindset.  I use to have that but I've learned that you can accomplish anything out here as long as you have that mindset.

Yesterday at church we didn't have any investigators show which sucks but we did have 3 less actives we have been working with come.  The coolest was having Keith Kmett come.  He served a mission and everything but then married a nonmember.  He hadn't been to church for almost a year but now he's been the past two weeks.  He even taught in Elder's quorum which was very cool to see.

Our main investigators are still Josh, Riley and Karen.  They all had pretty legit excuses for not making it to church but we expect them all next week.  We have a church tour tomorrow which should be really good.  Members are going to show their friends around the church and teach them about what we actually do for 3 hours every Sunday.  We have a bunch of investigators coming too which will be so good to get them familiar with the church and help them meet a bunch of the members.

I'll let you all know how things go with that.  By the end of next week we should be having some baptismal dates.  I almost forgot to mention that Elder Whiting is now a DL in the Zone so I'll get to go on exchanges with that kid which will be a blast!

I love you guys!

Love

Elder Jergensen
