Tyson's Letter: March 26, 2010

Hola mi familia!

Wow! I don't even know where to start. Dad was the only one that sent me a letter from the fam during the week, and his are the worst ones! Mom is the only one with an excuse because she was sick. ha jk! I love you all! but dad, you got me so good, you have no idea. I read your letter late on whatever night I got it and felt so helpless. I can't write or email except on Fridays and i got your letter Monday night! It was too late to get out my scriptures so I didn't know what 1 Nephi 2:15 was. I had a sweet scripture in mind, so when you told me you had already gone ahead and taken care of me I was a little bummed. You would have got me even better had you said another scripture that was like a common scripture mastery or something. But that night I went to be just wondering what 1 Nephi 2:15 said. As soon as I woke up, which was at 5:30 because we had to take an older elder to the traveling office because his companions had already left for Nicaragua, I looked it up first thing and was so relieved. I still am not sure if I get to chose a scripture for my plaque, but, if I do, I think I want Alma 17:11. I really like it. I also don't know if you can custom it a little but if it could say "and the Lord said: go unto thy brethren........" so you just cut out "unto them" and "the lamanites." I think that would be way sweet, but if you can't I still really like that scripture. Also look into Alma 30:25 as a little heads up before you try to pull that crap again! ha also, if Alma 17:11 doesn't work I think Alma 10:4 is a perfect plaque scripture! jk that is like the MTC joke.

Thanks for that package! You always send me exactly what I need and then a little extra spice. That singing toy thing is the bomb! It is also nice getting things to remind me of holidays because they don't decorate the MTC quite like our home gets decorated. Lindsie Runyan also sent me a beautiful package! It didn't have their address so I can't write them, but tell them thanks so much! It had everything I need for our MTC graduation party! Chips, queso, cookies, and the works! She is so sweet! Also drop Katie a little hint that she needs to step it up.

In response to dad's letter, I never received the Missionary pocket reference book from Deseret Book, so I am assuming that is a good things since I already have it now.

Lexi that is boss that you are getting 4's on the AP practices. I was your average joker, always pulling 2's on the practices and getting out of there. Ya that is so sweet that you are going to be a tennis captain. I totally understand ruining the family tradition and reign over the WAMA secretary position. Don't even worry, that didn't mean a lot to Zac and me, just like the Beaver sticker on the truck! oh goodness you have some repenting to do! ha jk that really is way tight. As for the babies and piglatin... they're hopeless.

Well things are going great here! Change is coming at me fast, and I don't feel ready. First, Elder Bryan is peacing out on me this Monday! This is the first time we are going to really be separated! We try to get together every night, but I have been super busy with my zone leader responsibilities that lately we have just been exchanging a little piece of paper that says "Buenas Noches" and we just slide it under one another's door. Things are so crazy with the added responsibilities. It has brought Elder Decker and I really close and we are great friends, but it is so stressful sometimes. We got a new district this week so we had to take them through tons of orientation stuff and tours and it has just sucked up a lot of time. Then all the pressure of keeping the zone in line and following the rules. It is just added stress to me already being scared to death to actually go to Mexico. I can't believe my nine weeks is almost over. We should be getting our travel plans today!!

When I get stressed, I just remember what hermano Johansen taught me. He said that as soon as the alarm goes off we should get out of bed and greet each day with a nice right punch, left punch, high right kick. It works miracles. I know dad's knee is still only 92.5%, but everyone else that is tough should definitely give it a try. It is impossible to have a bad day if you have remembered you morning rutine.
This Sunday, in sacrament meeting, our district is singing "We'll bring the world His truth" in spanish as our farewell song. It sould be good because none of us can sing worth beans! I wish so bad you all could see some of these things.

Wow I cannot believe greasy Zac is an AP and preparing to finish his mission. I can't believe how time has flown. When I realized I am almost at two months I felt sick. Where is the time going?! I remember the first 4 days in the MTC perfectly, but the last 7 weeks are a blur.

When time gets closer and I start packing, I will send home another package or two with some goods for the fam and my extra stuff. I love you all so much. Things couldn't be better hear, but I am a little nervous to leave the comfort of the MTC. Thanks for everything!

Love,
Elder Jergensen
