Hey Family!
Happy Birthday Daxton and Brecken! I can't believe you babies are 10 now! You are just growing up so fast! By the time I come home the babies may not even drink from sippy cups anymore! I loved the drawing and Iowa report in my package this week. I love getting drawings and letters from you guys!
Thanks for the package this week and the $20 from dad! I was wondering from dad's letter, who the Elder is that Sis. Winder ran into at USU? We have interviews this Wednesday so I'll have President Talbot fill out that BYU form then and send it in. Hopefully this will be soon enough. Is he the only one that needs to fill it out? I plan on having him fill out his part and then sending it in. If this isn't what I'm suppose to do please send me a letter and let me know or call Sis. Talbot or something. Thanks for figuring all of this out for me!
So for starters for me the church has redone our email so I have spent most of my email time today trying to log on and create a new user name and all that garbage. I finally have it all figured out now but it was a pain. Any email you send to my old account will still be forwarded to this one but I don't know if that will keep up or not.
As for this past week, we have been doing the usual: finding, dropping, and finding some more. We finally have some solid new people and had some very cool experiences. Yesterday we went to an appointment that we had previously set up. I remembered the apartment number but I couldn't seem to remember which building it was in the apartment complex. So we tried one and when we got to the door I knew that it wasn't the right one but I felt like we should knock on it anyway. So we did and the guy who answered ended up letting us in and we had an awesome lesson! His name is Michael and he is in his early 20's. He is getting married to his girlfriend soon and they are looking for a church that they can both go to and eventually raise their kids in. He ate up everything we taught him about eternal families and how the gospel will unify his future family in this life as well. We are going back to teach him later in the week with his girlfriend. We went to our real set appointment after and found out that the girl wasn't even in town so she was totally going to dog us anyway. The Lord just needed us in that place at that time for Michael so it all worked out.
It seems like we keep being in places that the Lord needs us. Earlier in the week we had another appointment fall through in a different apartment complex. Instead of going to our next place we decided to knock the rest of the doors in the building. The door right next to our appointment ended up being a lady named Kerra Bond. She is a member of the church who just moved here from Centerville, IA. She hasn't been to church for 3 years but really wants to get involved here. She is living with her fiancee who isn't a member but she said he wants to learn about the church and check out what she believes. So we are super excited to start teaching them. They are out of town this week in Hawaii but we are going to start teaching them when they get back the folowing week. The Lord just keeps blessing us!
We also ate out at the greatest buffet ever this week! We have this member here named Bro. Butterfield who is old and divorced so he is lonely and always wants to come out with us. So about once a week he comes out with us to a bunch of appointments and then he takes us out to eat at some buffet. On Friday he wanted to go all out though so he took us out to this casino buffet that was amazing! It was $20 a plate but it was all you can eat king crab and prime rib steak. They had tons of other good stuff too but I spent all my time there.
So this week was definitely a good week :). This next week we have a member taking us to the Winter Quarters temple on Saturday so I'm super excited for that too. I haven't been to the temple since July!
I love you all!!
Love
Elder Jergensen
