Hola mi familia!
I can't believe it has already been one month! It is so weird to think that the day might actually come that I will leave the MTC! It is hard to actually picture myself in Mexico! I am so excited! Last week, we taught in english for the last time. From here on out, our teachers only speak spanish, we only teach in spanish, and we are going to slowly ween ourselves off of english by having "ayunas de ingles" (english fasts). This week, we have two days designated to enlish fasts, and we will increase one more day every week! I love those days!
Well thanks for all the packages and letters! Those bamboo socks are way sweet and I have loved everything else! I hope you all liked what I sent. Obviously, the hymn books were for the greasy boys, but I also wanted to make sure you knew that the empty container that I tried to clean with handsoap here in our bathroom is for Maddie, and my used backpack is for Alexis... Mom is the only one I am still shopping for ;) ha ha jk I love you girls! I love reading your letters. That story about the earthquake in Chile was so amazing and I just felt God's love so much for me and for all of His children. It is amazing how strongly I can feel His love, especially as I have been preparing my lesson plans in spanish this last week.
Whenever I start to lose motivation or focus on studying, I just think of Christ and His love for the people that I will get to serve in Mexico and immediately I get excited to continue working and studying things that they need to hear! I love this work! I started a way sweet little project thing that one of my teachers suggested. It is a little binder that is divided up into the 5 lessons and then each one is divided into the various topics. Within each topic is a page for the doctrine, supporting scriptures, strategic questions, probable doubts, visual aids/analogies, and personal experiences. I know it has helped me to learn, so I hope it will help the people I will teach. I have also filled it with amazing pictures of Christ and other pictures to help investigators see and understand our message. Obviously, I won't depend on the pictures or notes in there, but I think they will really help keep the children interested, either way, I just love having those pictures in there to remind me why I am here.
I cannot believe Tan Man got his call! That is the coolest thing ever! I need to write him back today. It is so hard to stay on top of all the letters I need to write because you are only supposed to write on Pday, but there is like no time, so I do my best and then pick up where I left off the next pday. Do you know if any of my other friends have gotten their calls? I am out of sight and out of mind. I heard that Lex Luther went on a date with my buds! Ha that is sweet! Frank wrote me, but I don't have time to email him like he asked, so can you send me his address so I can get back to him?
Deaner beaner! Hunny thanks for you letter! you have no idea how I bad needed to hear that! You are such a doll! 10 points for you... and none for Lex luther! Tell her to stop dating my friends and write me! ha But I was just kidding about the braces. Mom is exactly right! I love hearing about every little thing... I was just caught off guard with your exciting news about getting your braces tightened! ha but keep me posted on sus dentistas y su churchball progress :)
I have two more follow up questions...................... What should I do about my watch? (see last email for details) and how do I scotch guard my ties like dad was always talking about?
To answer your questions.................... Elder Gubler is from Las Vegas, but I think he has relatives in St. George because he gets that a lot. Elder Drussel is from Nampa, Idaho right my grandma and grandpa. The craziest thing is that Elder Nauahi is from eagle too! He lives like just on the other side of eagle road from grandma and grandpa. He was an Eagle Mustang and says he thinks he had friends that were in her business club thing! He never had her, but he thinks he knows who she is. He is pretty sweet, but he is starting to go crazy being in here. A ton of kids from our district are starting to lose focus a lot except me and Elder Drussel and Elder Stevens. For example, last night, Elder Drussel and I had to go out to the hall to study because everyone in our classroom (Elder Stevens' comp was sick so they were at their room not in class) started having wars with rubberbands! We were so luckily that we were in the hall because one of their shots set off the smoke alarm!
Thanks for everything! I love you all so much!
Elder Jergensen
