¿Como estan todos? well I have made some sweet movies and taken some sweet pics, but I cant send them over email because they take too much space. I guess I will have to resort to sending CDs with all my stuff. I am able to watch and see all the things you send me. That movie of the babies is a gas. I cant believe they are mowing the lawn. From what I saw, it looks better than when dad did it. haha. Lex, that pic is so sweet! you are totally gazing into his eyes... good grief. You have like your neck all stretched out and you are trying to lean in to him. I am a missionary and dont need to see such filth! ha I also forgot if I commented on the package last week or not, but everything in there was great. We ate the brownies pretty quick to be safe but they were delicious. I am savoring everything else because we dont have any food in our house, so we have been eating breakfast and dinner from the stuff in that package for two weeks. Luckily, we have plenty of money for little snacks and things when we get really hungry.
In response, babies shoosh about being thirsty because that is how I feel all the time. You dont realize how blessed we are to have clean water in the united states. It is so inconvenient to not be able to drink from the sink, or toilet, whenever I want. I usually end up buying a water everyday and then drinking as much as I can at the members. I cant believe Elder Godfrey got sick, that blows. So far I am rocking as far as not getting sick. The food here really is way good. This last week, I discovered my two new favorite things here. The first is called Friolin. That is happiness in a bag. It is a huge plastic bag of cold juice for 6 pasos (like 60 cents). It is kind of hard to drink, but it is worth it. The next is not so convenient to get because it was from a member. here, lots of the members make popsicle type things in little plastic bags that they tie off the end and freeze, so to eat, you bite one of the corners and suck. One member gave us some she made that were from coconut milk. HEAVEN! It had like sweetened condensed milk, coconut milk, cinnamon, and who knows what else, but it was amazing! It is so nice to eat cold things because without fail, every meal is soup. Lots of times soup is just the appetizer, but lately the members have just been feeding us the soup and I swear they just put a live chicken in each one because there is about every part of the chicken in every soup.
Lex Luther I dont know what to tell you about the AP tests except if I passed them you can. I was a dork in AP bio that played with the electrical outlet in the back of the class with Britten all day everyday. you will be fine. And if not, I hear slick has a way sweet biology program! ha jk you are so smart and will be fine. Dont stress... story of my life. Well I am freaking jealous that you get to go boating. I can only dream about getting in water and cooling off. Like I think I told you last week, I cant even go within 200 yards of where the sand starts, so I havent even seen the ocean.
Things are going well here for the most part. It is really wearing on me that I cant communicate very well. I participate more and more in our lessons everyday and can tell I am improving, but it is a slow process. We have been really blessed with good investigators, but we have had our ups and downs. We were teaching a guy name Roberto that is about 22. he was so receptive and even had a firm baptismal date, but then we went for our next appointment and he and his roomate had peaced out. I guess the rent was due and they couldnt pay so they left in the night. We have his cell phone number so we will try to contact him, but that was a heartbreak. I dont know that anything will come of that. Now our primary investigators are named Veronica and Thomas. They are ready to be baptized and we have only taught them once. They are a member referral of the coolest guy ever. His name is Alejandro and he is a stud. He owns a little corner food stand and feeds us every time we pass buy. He makes hamburgers and tostados (like a sandwich with chicken, hot dogs, sausage, and cheese. They are kinda weird but pretty good. The only thing is that he loads them with mayonaise) Then we are also teaching a family of three sisters and their families that live together. I want to tell you more, but I wasted too much time trying to send home my movies and pics. I will write more next week about their progress.
Yes, Elder Valdivia is from Mexico City. The people here work wherever, but there are definitely lots in the tourist industry. It is sad to see the places they live and then see them in their work suits. They put on a show because their life is not one of suits and dresses like they work. I cant believe Franks farewell is the 25th! I wish him the best! Pass on my love!
I love you all so much!
Elder Jergensen
