Holy cow I have so much to say, but not much time because we have to bounce to Playa for our district meeting. It is so weird saying all these tropical names of places, but I see the complete other side. Like on Saturday we had zone conference in Tulum and then stake conference in Tulum yesterday. Now we are heading off to Playa del Carmen for district meeting. With all this travel, I have only seen the ocean twice! The other day, we ran in to more Mormon tourists. They asked me what is fun here to do... I am not a good one to ask for that. I told them that I haven't been to the beaches, eaten at the restaurants, or seen any of the ruins. I suggested they could tag along with us for some member present lessons or read scriptures in the park. Ha but ya we had zone conference this weekend and I didn't get the package. We didn't know we were going to have conference until Jueves. I will let you know when we have conferences, interviews, or transfers, but that is only if I find out in time.
Oh my goodness I would give just about anything to go role around in 2 or 3 inches of snow! You have no idea. It has been getting hotter every day. Our showers aren't even cold now. The sun has heated up our water so much that I couldn't stand in the water at the start of my shower today! Luckily, the members feed us hot soup every meal to add to the heat. ha! You just learn to ignore the heat and once you break the sweat and accept that you are going to be dripping all day it is no big deal. But yes we eat so so so well. Don't even worry about that. As far as fresh juices... so far members have made us mango, watermelon, and casaba melon juices that are literally just crushed fruit with a little added water and sugar. The mango is freaking to kill for! Then we also drink a lot of horchata (from a mix that isnt that great unless it is from a little food stand) and jamaica juice.
One thing I would love in my package that I miss like crazy is CHOCOLATE! The chocolate here blows and is hard to come by. Chocolate in any form... cookies, brownies, whatever! Ha and I have lost so much weight I have kinda stopped caring what I put in my body. My black belt doesn't fit me anymore, so I have to buy a smaller one. lol. This morning we went and played futbol with some of the hombres jovenes because they didn't have school. it was freaking fun, but so ridiculously hot. It was like playing in a sauna!
Oh I was wondering when Jordan goes into the MTC? and I have a word of advice for him and all my other friends that are getting ready to leave... don't buy the pants with cuffs. I like how they look more and bought all of mine like that, but they collect so much dirt and crap throughout the day so I have to clean them every night.
Good grief I can't believe I get to call home again next week. I honestly don't know what day I will be calling. We are going to find out at distric meeting today and then I will write you today or sometime quick during the week to let you know.
I have started noticing this week that my ankles pop just like dads and I do it in almost every lesson without thinking. ha it made me think about those days he used to try to sneak down the stairs and jump on me to wake me up, but I would always hear his ankles popping from a mile away! He better do that to greasy zac when he gets home. That was such a funny way to get woken up!!
Holy cow, so we are having tons of success and Tulum is just the bomb. I love this area. The more I hear from other elders in other areas the more I just want to spend the next two years right here. So I will name off our most promising investigators and if I dont have time to write you about them right now, you can ask me about them next week.... Ana and Dulce, Roberto, Samuel, Humberto, Jose Louis, Jorge, Veronica and Thomas, Christopher, and Mariana, Guadelupe, and Pedro. Ana and Dulce are sisters. Ana has a baptismal date, but is overcoming her love of fiestas aka drinking! We havent gotten to really talk to her for a day or two because of all our conferences, but she has come to church the last two weeks and really wants what is best for her family. Dulce doesnt have a date because things are really rough with her husband, but she knows the church is true and has quit her other church. Satan gets stronger as they get closer to baptism. Roberto is as gold as they come. He has now come to church twice in a row, and has a date to be baptized next Saturday.
Shoot we have to go to Playa right now, so I will write you either today or later in the week to let you know when I will be calling. Try to find out from Zac what he is going to do so I can try to time my call. Ask me about these investigators when I call because they are so sweet! I love you all!
